About Us…
We are a select group of beautiful and talented men and women who just can’t help but frequently burst out into song. We pride ourselves on our independence and being a self reliant/governing group. With members of diverse talents and experience singing together, our sound is molding and improving everyday. Complete with new talent and some old veterans, we’re prepared to tackle any vocal challenge that comes our way….So bring it!!! IdioSINGcrasies is influenced by all music, from Musiq Soulchild, to Fall out Boy, to Dave Mathews Band, and Michael Jackson, they cover it all. In the coming years we plan on leading Collegiate A Cappella in the region by setting the standard for Collegiate A Capppella.
Group History…
The DU Idiosingcrasies was founded in late 2005. With just over a year of experience singing together the Idiosingcrasies moved on to start with showcase concerts as well as performances for all major campus wide events. By 2006 the group began broadening its horizons and taking up gigs around Denver, holding exclusive auditions, and proving that there is no such thing as a song that can’t be performed a cappella. By 2007 the group was performing on channel 9 news as well as getting into the studio to begin recording tracks for their 1st album. By the time the 07-08 school year rolled around the group had some very important decisions to make. No DU a cappella group had ever made it past the 3 year mark and the Idios were determined to break this, and so, came the most selective and intense auditions yet. Out of this came the next generation of Idiosingcrasies complete with new talent and some old veterans, becoming the first group on campus to make it to its 2nd generation.
The future looks bright for the Idiosingcrasies as they continue to record in the studio for their albums, perform on and off campus including around the city and now competing with all of the best a cappella talent Colorado has to offer!
